NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Riding winning streaks of seven and six matches, respectively, no two teams in CCIW women’s soccer are in better form than North Central College and Elmhurst University at the moment. On Friday, North Central’s Claire Georgees was named CCIW Offensive Player of the Week and Elmhurst’s Nora Simon claimed CCIW Defensive Player of the Week as the regular season came to a conclusion this past week.

The 2026 CCIW Women’s Soccer Tournament kicks off on Saturday and all five matches of the tournament can be seen live and for free on the CCIW Network. 

Offensive

Claire Georgees, North Central (Midfielder, Freshman, Morton Grove, Ill.)

In a 3-1 win over Wheaton College last Wednesday that secured North Central a share of the CCIW regular season title that it later won outright, Claire Georgees scored twice to help take down the Thunder. She opened the scoring in the eighth minute and then made it 3-0 in the 58th minute with a pair of unassisted goals. Georgees wrapped up the week with four shots (two on goal) as the Cardinals take the No. 1 seed into the CCIW Tournament.

Defensive

Nora Simon, Elmhurst (Defender, Sophomore, Anchorage, Alaska)

In a 3-0 week for Elmhurst, Nora Simon played every minute of every match, was a part of two shutouts, and had two goals and an assist. In a 3-1 win at North Park University, Simon’s goal in the 58th minute proved to be the game-winner and she later assisted on an 87th minute goal to put the match out of reach. In a 2-0 shutout of Carroll University, the Simon-led defense allowed just one shot on target and her goal in the 83rd minute secured the three points. While she wasn’t a part of the offensive storyline in the regular season finale at Carthage College, her play limited the Firebirds to only six shots on goal in a 2-0 final that doubled as Elmhurst’s 13th shutout of the campaign.
