NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced Student-Athletes of the Week in men’s soccer on Tuesday morning.
Offense: Jack Fairwood, North Central
Fairwood, a senior midfielder from Carpentersville, Ill., produced a six-point week for the 14th-ranked Cardinals with two goals and two assists in two starts. His 89th-minute goal last Wednesday versus Wheaton secured a 2-2 draw for NCC. Three days later against Carthage, Fairwood picked up a goal and an assist in North Central’s 7-2 win at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
Defense: Sam Kedzior, Illinois Wesleyan
Kedzior collected his third CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week award this season after back-to-back 90-minute shutouts against CCIW opponents last week. The sophomore from Cary, Ill. made three saves for IWU in its 3-0 win over Augustana last Wednesday, then helped the Titans secure a 0-0 draw at Carroll with five saves last Saturday.
