NAPERVILLE – Elle Sutter of North Central claimed her third College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week award of 2023, while NCC teammate Kassandra Salviola is a first-time winner on the defensive side, according to a Tuesday afternoon announcement from the league offense.
 
Offense: Elle Sutter, North Central
Sutter, who previously won the weekly award from the CCIW on Sept. 19 and Oct. 3 and is a six-time winner in her career, scored an 82nd-minute insurance goal for North Central in last Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over North Park. Just three days later, the Peoria, Ill. native scored both NCC goals in the Cardinals’ 2-0 CCIW win at Carroll.
 
Defense: Kassandra Salviola, North Central
Salviola starred on NCC’s defensive back line last week, leading the Cardinals to two shutout victories over league rivals. In 178 minutes of action, the sophomore defender from Naperville, Ill. helped limit the opposition to just eight shot attempts, four of which were on frame. Saturday’s 2-0 win over Carroll marked North Central’s ninth shutout of the season, a new program record.
