NAPERVILLE – A vote conducted by College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) baseball head coaches earlier this month has selected North Central as the 2023 league favorite, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

The Cardinals, ranked #23 by D3baseball.com and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, received seven first-place votes from CCIW head coaches and 62 total points to claim the top spot in the poll.
Augustana secured the other two first-place votes for 56 points to be slotted second in the preseason rankings. Millikin was third with 47 points. Both the Vikings and Big Blue received votes in the D3baseball.com poll last month.
Wheaton notched 39 points for fourth in the preseason CCIW poll, followed by Illinois Wesleyan in fifth with 31 points.
North Park (30 points), Carroll (29), Carthage (21) and Elmhurst (nine) rounded the sixth through ninth positions in the poll.
