NAPERVILLE – It was a clean sweep for Augustana’s Dymitri Kanellakis and Harrison Boushele as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Kanellakis was the league’s top hitter last week, going 11-for-14 with seven runs scored and seven RBI in victories over Pitt-Bradford, Rockford, Saint John’s (Minn.) and Western Connecticut State on the Vikings’ perfect four-game sweep of the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.

The junior outfielder from Cary, Ill. had at least two hits in all four games, including a 5-for-5 performance against Rockford with a double and a triple on Friday. His .548 season batting average leads the league and ranks 34th in Division III among players with at least 3.0 plate appearances per game.

Boushele, a junior right-hander from Aurora, Colo., has been named CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week twice this season after hurling a one-hit shutout in Augustana’s 9-0 win over Saint John’s on Saturday. He struck out 10, improving to 3-0 on the year and lowering his season earned-run average to 1.08. Boushele’s 38 strikeouts in 2023 lead the CCIW and are fifth-most nationally.
