NAPERVILLE – North Park second baseman Justin Swanson and North Central right-handed pitcher Ryan Behling have been selected College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Swanson went 7-for-13 over four starts on the Vikings’ trip to the Central Florida Invitational. The junior from Johnson Creek, Wis. was for 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and two walks in the first game of the trip, a 9-7 win over Greenville last Tuesday. He added another three-hit game on Friday against St. Norbert, drilling a go-ahead three-run home run in the eighth inning as part of a four-RBI effort in NPU’s 6-5 win.

Behling ran his 2023 record to 2-0 after putting up 7.0 scoreless innings in the Cardinals’ 6-2 win over Illinois Tech on Sunday. He struck out five, scattered four hits and induced nine ground-ball outs. The performance marked his 13th career win and lowered his season earned-run average to 0.98.
