NAPERVILLE – Casey Fagan, a Transylvania freshman, and Zach Kuyava, a North Central junior, are Men’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), according to a Tuesday afternoon announcement from the conference office.
Fagan, playing his first career games against CCIW opponents, made a big splash with a pair of five-goal performances as the Pioneers swept their two-game trip to Wisconsin. The West Milford, N.J. native set a career best with five goals in Transy’s 18-4 win over Carroll on Friday, then matched the effort the following day as TU toppled Carthage, 15-14.
Kuyava equaled a season best with seven ground balls in the Cardinals’ 17-11 CCIW win at Elmhurst last Saturday. He won 15 of 29 face-offs in the win over the Bluejays. Kuyava also tallied five ground balls for NCC against Albion last Wednesday.
