CCIW Announces Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Teams

| By: Bryan Moore, Associate Executive Director
NAPERVILLE – The All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Lacrosse Teams were released by the league office, Tuesday afternoon. Unbeaten regular-season conference champion Chicago placed nine student-athletes on the First and Second Teams, including specialty awards for Lulu Hardy, Rachel Keefe and head coach Kate Robinson.

Hardy was voted CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year after averaging 4.0 goals and 5.2 points per game in league action. The junior attacker from Setauket, N.Y., who was CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year as a freshman in 2021, is now a three-time All-CCIW First Team choice.

The CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year is Keefe, who was named to the All-CCIW First Team and selected as the league’s First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year last spring. Keefe, a sophomore from Wilton, Conn., led the league with a .571 saves percentage in five CCIW starts while averaging 2.40 saves with 3.27 goals-against average.

Carroll's Rebecca Hallman, a Tinley Park, Ill. native and the only freshman on the All-CCIW First Team, was selected CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year. Hallman scored 15 goals in five CCIW appearances, while her 2.00 assists and 5.00 points per game each ranked fourth among league players.

Robinson repeated as the CCIW Coach of the Year and has now won or shared the award three times overall since 2019. The fifth-year head coach led the Maroons, who were ranked as high as #14 this season in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division III Poll, to their second consecutive regular-season CCIW title and improved their all-time league record to 22-2.

Of the 12 All-CCIW First Team choices, five are repeat selections, including a fifth consecutive First Team choice for Carroll’s Clara Jelacic. The Waukesha, Wis. native is the first five-time All-CCIW women’s lacrosse player in league history.

Among the 24 total All-CCIW picks in 2023, half are first-time recipients.
