NAPERVILLE – Carthage’s Colin Poitras seized his fourth College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week award while Illinois Wesleyan’s Blake Muschewske was a first-time recipient on the defensive end in 2023, as the league office announced its weekly men’s lacrosse awards on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Poitras, who previously collected CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week awards on March 14, March 28 and April 4, set a single-season CCIW record for goals scored in league play with seven goals last Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native has 32 goals this spring against conference foes, surpassing the previous mark of 30 set by Elmhurst’s Mac Harden in 2019. For the week, Poitras had 12 goals and an assist.
 
Muschewske, a senior from Excelsior, Minn., piled up five ground balls and three caused turnovers in league victories over North Central and Carthage that secured the outright regular-season championship for the Titans. His four ground balls in last Wednesday’s overtime win at North Central equaled a personal season high.
