All-CCIW Men’s Lacrosse Teams Announced

| By: Bryan Moore, Associate Executive Director
NAPERVILLE – The eighth annual version of the All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Lacrosse Teams were unveiled by the conference office on the eve of the league tournament, Wednesday afternoon. Transylvania midfielder Dalton Hubbs became the second player in league history to repeat as CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year.

League champion Illinois Wesleyan and runner-up North Central each received seven All-CCIW selections, including a league-high five First-Team nods for NCC.

Hubbs, who joins Elmhurst’s Mac Harden (2018-19) as the only two-time Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year winners, finished the six-game league schedule as the CCIW leader with 13.0 shot attempts per game. The Louisville, Ky. native also finished third with 3.67 goals per game and fifth with 4.50 points per game.

North Central seniors Trenton Herubin and Dylan Mlinarich made league history Wednesday, becoming the first set of teammates to share a postseason specialty award as Co-Defensive Student-Athletes of the Year. Both players, who anchored a defense that yielded a CCIW-low 7.82 goals per game, were All-CCIW First Team selections.

Eli Spence, an Elmhurst freshman from Snoqualmie, Wash., was voted CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year. Spence, one of only two freshmen to receive an All-CCIW Second Team selection, was the highest scoring freshman in the league with 3.83 points per game and finished fifth in the CCIW with 2.17 assists on average. Spence is the first Bluejay to win the award since Ty Funderburk in 2017.

Zach Iannucci, the 10th-year Illinois Wesleyan head coach and winningest coach in league history, was voted CCIW Coach of the Year by his peers for the third time. Iannucci piloted the Titans – who will take a 32-game regular-season CCIW win streak into Thursday’s league tournament – to their fifth straight undefeated CCIW regular-season title.

Colin Poitras of Carthage, who last week set the single-season CCIW record for goals scored during the league schedule with 32, was the only four-time All-CCIW honoree recognized on Wednesday. He is the fifth player in league history to be recognized in four different seasons.
