NAPERVILLE – Augustana junior Avery Frick became a three-time College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, earning the league’s weekly award after winning the Viking Invitational last Saturday in Rock Island, Ill.
Frick – the final CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in women’s golf during the 2022-23 season – was also the year’s first recipient last fall on Sept. 7.
The Geneva, Ill. native rallied from a six-shot deficit after Friday’s opening round to shoot a 73 on Saturday at Highland Springs Golf Course. She won the event by two strokes with a two-round total of 152, also helping Augie to the team title with a score of 624.
