NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for matches played between Monday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 27.
 
Offensive: Elle Sutter, North Central, Fifth Year (Peoria, Ill.)
Sutter claimed her third consecutive weekly award from the league and her fifth of the 2024 season after putting up back-to-back multi-goal performances to help the Cardinals extend their win streak.
 
Sutter had two goals and an assist – her fifth match of the season with at least five points – in last Wednesday’s 6-0 shutout of Illinois Wesleyan. She tacked on two more goals in a 4-0 win over North Park. Sutter has scored in consecutive matches – all NCC wins over CCIW opponents.
 
Defensive: Caitlin Fitzsimons, Carroll, Fifth Year (Oak Lawn, Ill.)
Fitzsimons posted back-to-back shutouts in goal, breaking the Pioneers’ all-time record for shutouts and allowing CU to clinch a share of the CCIW regular-season title last Saturday. 
 
In last Wednesday’s match versus Wheaton, Fitzsimons made three saves for her 22nd career shutout, most in program history. She made four more stops Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan, her ninth clean sheet of the season that guaranteed the Pios at least a share of the conference title.
