Three Individuals From CCIW Qualify For NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championship

NAPERVILLE – The announcement of individual qualifiers for the NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championship included three student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) – Augustana’s Emma Odle, Illinois Wesleyan’s Adriana Crabtree and North Central’s Julia Benes.
 
Seventy individuals – the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team – were selected to participate in each championship.
 
The trio from the CCIW was three of seven qualifiers from the Midwest Region. Odle, the CCIW individual champion on Nov. 2, was the fifth-place finisher at the Midwest Regional at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. last Saturday. Her time was 21:48.6. Benes was 10th in 22:02.2, while Crabtree was 13th in 22:03.6.
 
The NCAA Championship is a 6K race and will begin at 10 a.m. CT this Saturday at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at Terre Haute, Ind. Rose-Hulman is the host of the event.
