IWU’s Maldonado, Hanson Sweep CCIW Women’s Lacrosse Honors

NAPERVILLE – Illinois Wesleyan senior Britney Maldonado repeated as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week and IWU sophomore Devon Hanson claimed the CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week award, according to a women’s lacrosse announcement from the league office on Monday afternoon.
 
Offensive: Britney Maldonado, Illinois Wesleyan
The 5-foot-4 senior is the CCIW’s top offensive student-athlete for the second week in a row after nine-performance in the Titans’ 22-13 triumph at Lewis & Clark last Sunday. She scored three goals and tacked on six assists in the win.
 
In addition to Sunday’s effort, the Hoffman Estates, Ill. native had three goals and an assist for Illinois Wesleyan last Wednesday in Bloomington.
 
Defensive: Devon Hanson, Illinois Wesleyan
Hanson totaled 11 draw controls, five ground balls and five caused turnovers in the Titans’ two games last week. Her nine draw controls in the win on Sunday at Lewis & Clark tied a personal career best.
