NAPERVILLE – Ian Edwards of Carthage and Michael Rocco of Illinois Wesleyan are the final recipients of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week awards during the 2024 season, the league office announced Tuesday.
Offensive: Ian Edwards, Carthage
Edwards, a senior from Madison, Wis., broke out for a nine-point game in Carthage’s 24-3 triumph at Augustana on Saturday. His eight goals were tied for third-most in a game in Carthage history. Edwards was previously named CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week on Feb. 21.
Defensive: Michael Rocco, Illinois Wesleyan
Rocco helped limit Carroll to just four goals in Saturday’s 29-4 win in Waukesha. The Libertyville, Ill. native finished the afternoon 16-for-24 on face-offs, had three ground balls and tallied his first goal of the season early in the fourth quarter.
