Josh Lim (North Aurora, Ill.) established new career highs with 11 carries and 121 yards in the Vikings’ 30-13 win over Simpson in Rock Island. Lim scored his first career touchdown on a 67-yard rush in the second quarter that extended Augie’s advantage to 23-0.
Carroll junior quarterback
Caden Pendleton (Kimberly, Wis.) completed 17 of 25 passes for 212 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Pios to a 28-16 win at Wisconsin-Stout on Thursday (Sept. 5). Pendleton’s passing efficiency of 192.0 ranked first in the CCIW and 24th among Division III quarterbacks in week one.
Carthage senior defensive lineman
Cristobal Gutierrez, Jr. (North Riverside, Ill.) logged a sack and a forced fumble in the Firebirds’ 49-0 loss at 14th-ranked Saint John’s. The sack late in the second quarter was the sixth of his career.
Elmhurst senior defensive back
Connor Devries (Lawton, Mich.) logged eight tackles, forced a fumble and had a 34-yard pick-6 early in the first quarter of the Bluejays’ 55-20 defeat at Adrian. Devries, who also shared a tackle for loss, now has five career interceptions.
Illinois Wesleyan senior defensive back

North Park junior wide receiver
Wesley McCloud (Peoria, Ill.) hauled in nine receptions for 144 yards and two scores to push the Vikings past Ripon, 42-41. The performance – McCloud’s first career 100-yard receiving game – included a 17-yard touchdown grab with 1:00 remaining that held up as the game-winning score.
