CCIW Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week (Jan. 14)

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announces its Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for competitions conducted between Monday, Jan. 6 and Sunday, Jan. 12.
 
Swimming: Tess Boyer, Wheaton, Sophomore (Merrian, Kan.)
Boyer collected her fourth weekly award from the CCIW this season after winning 200 individual medley in the Illinois-Michigan tri-meet with Hope and Kalamazoo last Saturday in Wheaton. Her winning time of 2:08.78 broke an eight-year-old meet record.
 
Boyer also finished second in the 200 backstroke, narrowly missing her lifetime best of 2:07.07 with a 2:07.28.
 
Diving: Lara Stamp, Wheaton, Freshman (Valparaiso, Ind.)
Stamp became the second student-athlete to win three weekly diving awards from the conference office after establishing two new career bests at Saturday’s event. On the 3-meter board, Stamp broke 200 for the first time, diving 206.05.
 
She scored nearly 100 points higher on the 1-meter board, diving 393.30 and missing the regional qualifying score by only less than 2 points.
