Boyer Sets Meet Record as Wheaton Leads After Friday CCIW Women's Swimming Finals

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — The race for the team title remained close at the top on Friday night as Wheaton held a narrow edge entering the final day of the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
 
Through three days, Wheaton leads the standings with 580 points, followed closely by defending champion Augustana (555) and Carthage (515). Illinois Wesleyan sits fourth with 355 points, while Carroll is fifth with 181. North Central and Millikin are tied for sixth with 102 points apiece.
 
Wheaton’s Tess Boyer provided the signature performance of the evening session, setting a CCIW meet record in the 400-yard individual medley. The junior touched the wall in 4:21.41 to break the previous meet mark and achieve an NCAA qualifying standard. Boyer also set a meet record in the 200-yard IM on Thursday.
 
The Thunder began the session with a conference title in the 200-yard medley relay as Savannah Jeffery, Lydia Hansen, Boyer and Aubrey Swanson won in 1:46.84. Wheaton added individual victories in the 200-yard freestyle, where freshman Allison Henschel won in 1:55.82, and the 100-yard breaststroke, where freshman Lydia Hansen captured first place in 1:05.81. Freshman Kate Zurowski also secured the 100-yard backstroke title with a time of 59.16.
 
Illinois Wesleyan earned a win in the 100-yard butterfly as sophomore Isabella Cano took first place in 59.87.
 
The championships conclude Saturday at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex with preliminary heats at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. The final day of women’s competition will include the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
