NAPERVILLE – Wheaton senior Annika Richardson averaged a double-double in two College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) starts last week to earn the league’s Student-Athlete of the Week award on Monday afternoon.
The announcement marked Richardson’s second weekly honor from the CCIW this season.
The 5-foot-11 forward averaged 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds last week while shooting 58 percent from the field and 47 percent from 3-point range.
Richardson scored 23 points and gathered 11 rebounds with two blocks and a steal to drive Wheaton past North Central last Wednesday, 66-52. She made five 3-pointers in the win. On Saturday against Carthage, the Northfield, Minn. native tallied another 24 points and 10 boards to go along with two assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
