NAPERVILLE — Nikkel Johnson, a Millikin sophomore, has been tabbed College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday after posting a pair of double-digit scoring performances during the opening week of conference play.
The forward produced 25 points and 14 rebounds in Millikin’s road game at Elmhurst last Wednesday, followed by 21 points and nine rebounds in Saturday’s 69-58 win over North Park. She shot at least 63 percent from the field in both contests, connecting at a 65.5 percent (19-for-29) clip for the week.
For the two games, Johnson averaged 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds.
