North Central Rises to #2, Aurora at #12 in Latest NCAA Poll

NAPERVILLE – North Central moved up one spot to #2 and Aurora appeared at #12 in the latest NCAA Women's Coaches Poll released by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) last Thursday, Jan. 16.
 
NCC was the runner up at the NWCA National Duals earlier this month and jumped in front of King for the second spot in the rankings. NCC had 95 points in the poll, trailing only top-ranked Iowa. The Cardinals also had two wrestlers ranked first nationally in their weight classes – Amani Jones (124) and Sara Sterner (131). A total of 16 NCC wrestlers are nationally ranked.
 
Aurora tied for 12th position in Thursday’s release, tied with Lock Haven with 10 points in the poll. AU was eighth at the National Duals, earning wins over Adrian and Elmira. Alexis Janiak is ranked third nationally at 131 pounds.
