NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced Tuesday that Augustana’s Kendle Mihm and Carthage’s Kendall Leistico have been selected as the Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week. Mihm excelled in multiple freestyle events to help the Vikings open their season with strong performances against Loras, Grinnell, and Colorado College, while Leistico impressed on the boards for the Firebirds with consistent scores and newly added dives in early-season competition.
 
Swimming: Kendle Mihm, Augustana
In Augie’s season opener versus Loras on Oct. 11, Mihm won the 50 and 100 freestyles with times of 24.94 seconds and 54.92 seconds. She also contributed to winning relays in the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle. 
 
Last Friday and Saturday against Grinnell and Colorado College, Mihm conquered the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.29 seconds, second place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.82 seconds and contributed to second- and third-place finishes in the 400 freestyle relay and 200 freestyle relay.
 
Diving: Kendall Leistico, Carthage
Leistico had a strong opening weekend, adding two new dives to her 3-meter list. She scored 145.00 on six dives for 3-meter and 140.30 on six dives for 1-meter against Wisconsin-Whitewater. At the Wisconsin Showcase, she improved on both boards, scoring 148.28 on 3-meter and 149.40 on 1-meter.
