GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Following an impressive regular season and a dominant showing at last weekend's CCIW Championships, Wheaton swimmer Tess Boyer has been selected to compete at this year's NCAA Division III Championships. The sophomore will take part in three events at next month's meet in Greensboro, North Carolina, and she is the first Thunder women's swimmer to qualify for the national finals since Abby Pardridge in 2020. Due to the cancelation of that year's championships, Boyer will be the first female swimmer to represent Wheaton at the NCAA meet since Brooke Barnes did so in 2019. This year's finals are set for March 19-22, and Boyer will compete on the first three of those dates.
The Kansas native was named the CCIW Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Meet at this year's conference championships after winning three individual gold medals and four relay titles in Pleasant Prairie, and she is the only women's swimmer in the conference to earn qualification to this year's NCAA meet. Boyer claimed conference titles in the women's 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley, and 200-yard butterfly competitions last week, and she will swim in these three events again at the NCAA Championships. The second-year swimmer will participate in the women's 200 IM on Wednesday, March 19th, the women's 400 IM on Thursday, March 20th, and the women's 200 fly on Friday, March 21st.
Preliminary races for each event are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM (EDT) on each day, while event finals will start at 6:00 PM (EDT) every evening. The official NCAA website will provide a free video stream for each day of the meet, and a live result link for the Championships will be accessible through the Wheaton Athletics and NCAA websites.
