NCC Favored to Extend CCIW Title Streak at 2025 Men’s Cross Country Championship

NAPERVILLE --- North Central was picked as the favorite to capture the 2025 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Championship, according to the annual coaches’ poll released Thursday afternoon.

The race, hosted by Augustana, is slated to begin at noon on Saturday at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. It will be the first CCIW Championship held in Rock Island since 2019.
 
The Cardinals, the winners of the last 50 conference titles, received eight first-place votes and 64 points in the poll. NCC was ranked 10th nationally in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll released last week.
 
NCC earned the top spot ahead of Carthage, which was second with 56 points and one first-place vote. Wheaton placed third with 51 points, followed by Millikin in fourth at 39 points. Illinois Wesleyan (32), Augustana (31), Elmhurst (24), Carroll (19), and North Park (8) rounded out the nine-team field.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, Ill.), Carroll University (Waukesha, Wis.), Carthage College (Kenosha, Wis.), Elmhurst University (Elmhurst, Ill.), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, Ill.), Millikin University (Decatur, Ill.), North Central College (Naperville, Ill.), North Park University (Chicago, Ill.) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, Ill.).
