NAPERVILLE — Carroll swept the offensive and defensive awards while North Central claimed the special teams honor as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Football Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Carroll senior Reed Breckheimer was recognized for his three-touchdown offensive performance in the Pioneers’ road win at Illinois Wesleyan, while teammate Amarrion Bridges earned defensive honors after recording two interceptions and two pass breakups. North Central senior Thomas Skokna captured the special teams award following a 79-yard punt return touchdown that helped the Cardinals clinch a share of their fourth straight CCIW title.
Offensive: Reed Breckheimer, Carroll
Breckheimer, a senior from Hilbert, Wis., turned in a versatile performance in the Pioneers’ 34-14 road win over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. Breckheimer rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries, averaging 12.5 yards per attempt while also catching eight passes for 63 yards to finish with 163 all-purpose yards. He found the end zone on runs of 21, 24 and five yards.

Bridges made a major impact in the Pioneers’ win on Saturday, leading CU’s defensive effort with two interceptions and two pass breakups.
