Aurora’s Johnson Named CCIW Men’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week

NAPERVILLE — Aurora’s Cameron Johnson has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following his effort in the Spartans’ conference-opening dual win last Thursday.

Johnson, a junior from Oswego, Ill., delivered one of the dual’s key results in AU’s 24-17 victory over Carthage, earning a 9-8 decision over Zaren Anderson at 157 pounds to help solidify the Spartans’ lead. His win came immediately after Jake Penzato’s result and pushed Aurora ahead 15-5 as the Spartans claimed five of the dual’s 10 bouts.
