NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) is represented well in the new D3hoops.com Top 25, landing Illinois Wesleyan at No. 17 and Carroll at No. 24 in the new poll released Monday.
IWU had 182 points in the D3hoops.com poll after posting a 2-2 record through the season’s first two weeks. The Titans own victories over Trinity (Texas) (73-63 on Nov. 15) and Franciscan (88-56 last Friday).
Additionally, the Titans are ranked 25th in the new Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll unveiled Tuesday.
Carroll’s record is 3-2, including a 67-61 over Wartburg last Saturday in Waukesha. The Pioneers, with 83 points in the poll, have also collected wins over St. Norbert (75-48 on Nov. 8) and Beloit (72-45 on Nov. 12). The Pioneers were not ranked by the WBCA, but received 13 points in the poll.
NYU, Scranton, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Smith and Johns Hopkins are the top five teams in the D3hoops.com poll. One of Carrroll’s two losses was a 62-59 defeat versus Oshkosh on Nov. 7. Bowdoin is ranked fifth in the WBCA poll.
