NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) produced a strong showing on the 2025 D3football.com All-Region 5 Team released Wednesday, sweeping the region’s major awards and earning widespread recognition across the First, Second and Third Teams.
North Central quarterback Garret Wilson was named the Region 5 Offensive Player of the Year after earning First Team quarterback honors. Wilson completed nearly 71 percent of his passes during the season, throwing for 2,479 yards and 39 touchdowns, with his passing efficiency rating of 212 standing as the top mark in NCAA Division III. Teammate John Sullivan was selected as the Region 5 Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after totaling 61 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks from his position along the defensive line.
Wheaton head coach Jesse Scott was recognized as the Region 5 Coach of the Year following an 11–2 season and a run to the Division III national quarterfinals. Wheaton placed 10 players on the All-Region team overall, including six First Team selections, while North Central led all CCIW programs with 12 total honorees.
In addition to Wilson and Sullivan, North Central’s First Team selections included running back Donovan McNeal, wide receiver Thomas Skokna, offensive tackle Cortez Jones, center Jerred Durian, kicker Aidan Ellison and cornerback Rahmareon Roby. McNeal averaged 8.3 yards per carry while rushing for 1,158 yards, Skokna led Division III with 23 receiving touchdowns, and Ellison converted 13 of 14 field-goal attempts, highlighted by a 57-yard kick. Roby added four interceptions and 11 pass breakups in the secondary.
Wheaton’s First Team honorees were guard Aiden Byrne, offensive tackle Aidan Kingsbury, defensive end Peter Johanik, linebacker Zeke Harris, safety Colin Moore and punter Josiah Smith. Johanik set a new program record for tackles for loss, Harris led the conference with 112 tackles, and Moore’s eight interceptions tied for the national lead in Division III.
Additional CCIW honorees included Carroll senior tight end Reed Breckheimer on the First Team after contributing as both a receiver and rusher, while teammate Max Katsenos earned Second Team honors at center. Illinois Wesleyan sophomore Will Nazha received Second Team recognition at both wide receiver and returner, with junior Zach Hansen also earning Second Team honors at long snapper.
Wheaton added multiple Second Team selections, including quarterback Mark Forcucci, wide receiver Seth Kortenhoeven, tight end Ben Juska and linebacker Luca Torti, while WashU junior Brady Cavan was named to the Second Team offense. North Central rounded out its honors with additional Second and Third Team selections on the defensive side of the ball.
All Region 5 honorees remain eligible for D3football.com All-America consideration, with the national teams scheduled to be announced on Monday, Dec. 22. Region 5 is comprised of institutions from the American Rivers Conference, the CCIW, the Midwest Conference and the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
