NAPERVILLE — Carroll and Illinois Wesleyan continued to represent the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on the national stage as both programs remained in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll, released Tuesday.
Carroll (8-3) held at No. 21 with 47 points, while Illinois Wesleyan (7-3) checked in at No. 22 with 40 points, keeping two CCIW teams ranked nationally entering the holiday break.
The Pioneers closed the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 1-1 showing at the Daytona Beach Shootout in Florida, highlighted by a 64-48 victory over WPI last Friday. Two days later, CU dropped a 76-66 decision against eighth-ranked Washington & Lee.
Illinois Wesleyan enters the break at 7-3 overall after navigating a challenging non-conference slate. The Titans dropped a 73-54 decision at 21st-ranked Chicago last Tuesday.
The two nationally ranked CCIW programs will square off in Bloomington on Saturday, Jan. 3, when Carroll visits Illinois Wesleyan for a league matchup at the Shirk Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
