NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for games played between Saturday, Feb. and Sunday, Feb. 16.
Offensive: Eli Spence, Elmhurst, Junior (Snoqaulmie, Wash.)
Spence piled up five goals and four assists to lead the Bluejays past Centre on Saturday, Feb. 8. He scored the first goal of the game at the 12:27 mark of the first quarter and also the game winner with 10:47 remaining in the game.
Spence was also selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week last Wednesday.
Defensive: Chad Kohlmann, Carthage, Sophomore (Delafield, Wis.)
Kohlmann gave the Firebirds 11 ground balls and was 16-for-16 on faceoffs in their 20-1 season-opening victory over Hendrix on Saturday, Feb. 1. The performance allowed the 5-foot-9 faceoff specialist to join Spence on the USILA Division III Team of the Week.
Kohlmann added another eight ground balls and 13 faceoff wins in the Firebirds’ 11-9 victory at Lake Forest last Saturday.
