CCIW Softball Student-Athletes of the Week (March 24)

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for games played between Monday, March 17 and Sunday, March 23.
 
Hitter: Jen Kuhn, Illinois Wesleyan, Senior (Normal, Ill.)
Kuhn collected her second weekly honor from the league office during the 2025 season after going 9-for-14 (.643) last week for the Titans. She had three multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 performance in IWU’s 18-1 win over Monmouth last Tuesday. 
 
She scored five runs and had three doubles and a home run to finish the week with a 1.071 slugging percentage. Kuhn also drove in 10 during the week, including a four-RBI game versus Trine on Saturday.
 
Pitcher: Kelsey Bruno, Millikin, Senior (Springfield, Ill.)
Bruno won all three of her starts last week in Cocoa Beach, Fla., posting a 1.47 earned-run average across with 28 strikeouts 19.0 innings of action. 
 
In Thursday’s 4-1 win over Western Connecticut State, Bruno had a season-high 11 strikeouts in the complete-game victory. She also struck out nine against MCLA last Tuesday and added eight more strikeouts in MU’s 10-1 victory at Hamilton last Friday.
