CCIW Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week (March 25)

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week for games played between Monday, March 17 and Sunday, March 23.
 
Offensive: Sadie Newton, Illinois Wesleyan, Junior (Bloomington, Ill.)
Newton tallied nine goals, three assists, eight ground balls and 17 draw controls in three games last week, helping the Titans to a pair of victories.
 
She had a career-best eight-point game in last Saturday’s 21-3 win at Augsburg – six goals and two assists. She also had eight draw controls in the victory. She added four ground balls, six draw controls and a caused turnover on Sunday when IWU toppled Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 9-6.
 
Defensive: Lizzie Rymarcsuk, Illinois Wesleyan, Senior (Lake Zurich, Ill.)
Rymarcsuk posted two wins in goal for Illinois Wesleyan last week, totaling 33 saves. She had a .569 saves percentage, adding eight ground balls and a caused turnover.
 
She began the week with 20 saves at Calvin last Wednesday, just one short of a career best. She tacked on 11 saves with two ground balls and a caused turnover in the Titans’ win over UWSP.
