NATIONAL NOTABLES
Elmhurst junior Eli Spence (Snoqualmie, Wash.) is the Division III leader with 7.63 points per game. Spence also ranks third nationally with 4.63 goals per game and 12th nationally with 3.00 assists per game.
 
Carthage graduate student Andrew Johnson (Lakeville, Minn.) ranks third in Division III with 3.50 assists per game. Johnson also ranks sixth nationally with 6.20 points per game.
 
Elmhurst sophomore Gabe Henry (Snoqualmie, Wash.) ranks fourth in Division III with 3.57 caused turnovers per game.
 
North Central senior Aidan Murphy (Lindenhurst, Ill.) ranks fourth in Division III with a .653 save percentage. Murphy also ranks 24th nationally with an 8.24 goals-against average.
 
Carthage junior Jake Williamson (St. Louis, Mo.) ranks eighth in Division III with a 7.22 goals-against average.
 
Illinois Wesleyan sophomore Timothy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.) ranks 12th in Division III with 3.00 assists per game.
 
Carthage graduate student Alec Gern (Barrington, Ill.) ranks 16th in Division III with 3.60 goals per game.
 
Elmhurst junior Tony Vazquez (Cottage Grove, Minn.) ranks 21st in Division III with 8.88 ground balls per game.
 
Elmhurst senior Noah Mickelson (Mattawan, Mich.) ranks 22nd in Division III with an 8.16 goals-against average.
 
AROUND THE CCIW
Carroll junior Ethan Philips (Huntley, Ill.) was the Pioneers’ leading scorer with four goals and two assists in last Saturday’s 11-6 home victory over Northland. Philips set or tied career highs in goals, assists and points and also established new career marks with 16 shot attempts and 12 shots on goal. Phillips averages 8.25 shots per game this season, seventh-most in the CCIW. The Pios (5-3) will host Concordia Wisconsin on Monday, April 7 at 7 p.m.
 
Carthage graduate student Andrew Johnson (Lakeville, Minn.) had one goal and four assists for the Firebirds in their 12-5 victory at Kalamazoo last Saturday. The performance made Johnson just the third player in CCIW history to reach 300 career points. Johnson leads the league with 35 total assists and 3.50 assists per game, while also ranking second on the CCIW scoring list in 2025 with 6.20 points per game. The Firebirds (9-1) are back home Saturday for a noon start against Albion.
 
Elmhurst senior Noah Mickelson (Mattawan, Mich.) helped the Bluejays stay undefeated with 12 saves in a 14-6 road win at Albion last Sunday. Mickelson, who ranks fourth or better in the CCIW in saves per game (11.38), goals-against average (7.83) and saves percentage (.595), has made at least 12 saves in a game four times this season and was named CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for the second time.  Elmhurst (8-0) visits Colorado College on Friday night at 6 p.m. CST.
 
Illinois Wesleyan sophomore Timothy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.) seized CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday thanks to a five-goal, four-assist blitz for the Titans in their 18-15 win at Calvin last Saturday night. McHugh has been IWU’s leading scorer this season, averaging 3.00 assists per game to rank second among CCIW players and 4.56 points per game – fourth-most in the league. IWU (7-2) returns to Tucci Stadium Saturday or the first time since March 5 to host Adrian at 2 p.m.

North Central senior Aidan Murphy (Lindenhurst, Ill.) made 15 saves and scooped up nine ground balls in the Cardinals’ 8-6 loss to Albion last Saturday in Grand Rapids, Mich. Murphy has emerged as the conference leader in saves per game (14.00) and also ranks second with a .653 saves percentage. Murphy has won five games this season and tallied at least 10 saves in all seven of his appearances in 2025. North Central (5-2) hosts Calvin Saturday at 2 p.m.
