CCIW Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week (April 21)

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for games played between Monday, April 14 and Sunday, April 20.
 
Hitter: Carson Gnade, Elmhurst, Sophomore (St. Louis, Mo.)
Gnade contributed a 4-for-4 performance with four runs batted in in the Bluejays’ 10-9 win at North Park on Saturday. He homered twice, doubled and walked to reach base five times overall.
 
Gnade also delivered a pinch-hit solo home run for EU in the opener of Saturday’s twin bill in Chicago.
 
Pitcher: Jackson Nuese, North Park, Junior (Kihei, Hawaii)
Nuese set new personal bests with 7.2 innings and eight strikeouts on Saturday, earning the victory in the Vikings’ 3-2 win over Elmhurst. He threw 106 pitches and allowed only one hit before giving way to the bullpen in the eighth inning.
