NAPERVILLE – Augustana’s Maripaz Ramirez collected two critical wins for the Vikings in their 4-3 dual win over Loras last Thursday to earn Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week honors from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Tuesday afternoon.
The freshman from Belen, Costa Rica paired with Natasha Gauerke to help Augie clinch the critical doubles point thanks to a 6-4 triumph in the second slot in the lineup over Ellie Kalina and Leia Papanicholas. Ramirez went on to win at #2 singles over Dorothy Deans, 6-3, 7-5.
