NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week for games played between Monday, April 21 and Sunday, April 27.
Offensive: Abby MacKenzie, North Central, Senior (Chilhowee, Mo.)
MacKenzie earned her third weekly award of the season – twice now on offense – after totaling nine points, six ground balls and 12 draw controls.
She found the back of the net four times and assisted on a fifth goal to help the Cardinals defeat Augustana last Wednesday, 14-10. She also contributed 11 draw controls, the fourth time this season she’s reached double figures. MacKenzie added three goals and an assist in NCC’s regular-season finale against Carthage last Saturday.
Defensive: Mia Fiandaca, Illinois Wesleyan, Senior (St. Charles, Ill.)
Fiandaca led the Titans to a 20-4 win over Elmhurst last Saturday. Fiandaca logged five goals, eight caused turnovers, five ground balls and four draw controls.
The game saw her break the program’s single-season caused turnovers record, as she broke the previous record of 50 set just a season ago.
