Max O'Malley Named Elmhurst Director of Tennis

ELMHURST, Ill. --- Elmhurst University and Director of Athletics Dr. Glen Brittich have announced the hiring of Max O'Malley as the new Director of Tennis, overseeing both the men's and women's tennis programs.

"Max's energy, adaptability, and commitment to student-athlete development make him a tremendous addition to Elmhurst Athletics," said Dr. Brittich. "His coaching experience and leadership skills will be instrumental in developing our tennis programs."

O'Malley joins Elmhurst following a diverse background in coaching, leadership, and player development. A 2024 graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in economics, he served as an assistant coach for Arizona's Wheelchair Tennis Team, where he helped design innovative drills, analyze match performance, and manage team practices. During his tenure, he contributed to the program's growth and competitive success at the NCAA level.

"I'm happy to be the new Director of tennis at Elmhurst University and I look forward to a winning season!" said O'Malley.

In addition to his coaching experience, O'Malley has held leadership and management roles across a variety of industries, including sales, tourism, and entrepreneurship. His work as a tour leader in Europe and his experience in client-focused roles have honed his communication and organizational skills—key assets in recruiting and mentoring student-athletes. He also spent time as a youth tennis coach at the Hinsdale Racquet Club, where he guided young athletes in skill development and fostered a passion for the game.As Director of Tennis, O'Malley will lead all aspects of the men's and women's tennis programs, including practice planning, player development, recruiting, and fostering a culture of excellence on and off the court.
