NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week on Wednesday, recognizing Augustana freshman Savannah Shapley and Carthage sophomore Mae Norman for their performances in Saturday’s dual meet competition. 
 
Swimming: Savannah Shapley, Augustana
Shapley turned in a strong performance at the Augustana Triangular on Saturday, marking the Vikings’ first meet following the holiday break. Competing against Monmouth and Coe, Shapley recorded two individual victories while setting a new pool record.
 
Her top finish came in the 200-yard butterfly, where she posted a pool-record time of 2:19.53, also a season-best effort. Shapley added a second win in the 200-yard individual medley, touching first with a season-best time of 2:21.92.
 
Shapley’s results helped lead Augustana to team victories over Monmouth (163-81) and Coe (182-92), improving the Vikings’ dual record to 5-2 on the season.
 
Diving: Mae Norman, Carthage
A native of Clarkston, Mich., Norman turned in a solid performance for the Firebirds in Kenosha, recording personal-best scores on both diving boards. She posted a score of 152.65 on the 1-meter board and followed with a 148.15 on the 3-meter board.
 
Norman’s efforts helped the Carthage women’s swimming and diving team to a 181-117 victory over Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday.
