NAPERVILLE — College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week honors were announced Tuesday afternoon as Tess Boyer of Wheaton and Mae Norman of Carthage earned recognition for standout performances in weekend competition.
Swimming: Tess Boyer, Wheaton
Boyer logged a record-setting performance at the Illinois-Michigan Quad Meet last Saturday. A junior, Boyer led the Thunder by winning two individual events and establishing a new pool record at Kalamazoo.
Boyer captured first place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.97, breaking the previous pool record by .37 seconds and finishing nearly five seconds ahead of the field. She also claimed a victory in the 200 freestyle with a lifetime-best flat start time of 1:55.96, the second-fastest mark recorded in the conference this season. Boyer added a 57.60 split on the butterfly leg of Wheaton’s 400 medley relay.
Diving: Mae Norman, Carthage
A junior from Clarkston, Mich., Norman recorded personal-best scores on both boards in Carthage’s dual against Illinois Tech last Saturday.
Norman posted a career-high score of 160.60 on the 1-meter board and followed with a personal-best 158.20 on the 3-meter.
