NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) continues to be represented on the national women’s basketball stage, with Illinois Wesleyan and Carroll both appearing in this week’s Division III Top 25 polls.

In the new D3hoops.com Top 25 released Monday, Illinois Wesleyan checked in at No. 17, followed by Carroll at No. 21. Both programs were also recognized in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll unveiled Tuesday, with the Titans ranked No. 20 and the Pioneers listed at No. 24.

The rankings follow a top-25 conference matchup on Saturday, when Illinois Wesleyan earned an 85-52 victory over Carroll at the Shirk Center. IWU head coach Mia Smith recorded her 296th career CCIW victory, surpassing the previous conference mark held by Millikin’s Lori Kerans.

Illinois Wesleyan, now 4-0 in CCIW play, has navigated one of Division III’s most challenging schedules, highlighted by a 78-76 victory over then-No. 19 Bethel on Dec. 28

Carroll remains ranked at 8-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Pios return to action Wednesday, hosting Elmhurst.
