NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Three wins in three matches to end the regular season and share the regular season title. Fourteen goals scored as a team. Two shutouts. North Park University rolls into the CCIW Tournament with momentum on its side and the Vikings swept the final CCIW Men’s Soccer Player of the Week awards on Friday with Carson Belcher earning offensive honors and Dennis Rinne nabbing defensive accolades.
The 2026 CCIW Men’s Soccer Tournament gets started on Saturday and all five matches of the tournament can be seen live and for free on the CCIW Network.
Offensive
Carson Belcher, North Park (Forward, Senior, Schaumburg, Ill.)
Belcher tripled his goal haul for the season over the final three matches, netting six times as North Park defeated Elmhurst University, Millikin University, and Carroll University.
A 27th minute tally at Elmhurst would prove to be the game-winner in a 3-0 defeat of the Bluejays and he would add an assist on NPU’s second goal. Over the weekend, Belcher added two more in a 5-2 defeat of the Big Blue, again striking in the 27th minute and capping the Vikings' scoring in the 63rd minute. He was then involved in five of North Park’s goals in a 6-0 defeat of the Pioneers to finish off the regular season. Belcher produced his third game-winning goal of the week with a penalty kick in the 10th minute, then completed his hat trick with tallies in the 51st and 53rd minutes. He added assists in the 20th and 87th minutes of the match as well.
Defensive
Dennis Rinne, North Park (Defender, Junior, Stord, Norway)
Rinne was on the field for all 270 minutes of the final three regular-season matches for North Park and helped the Vikings to a pair of shutouts. After the 3-0 win at Elmhurst, Rinne opened the scoring for NPU in the second minute and assisted on a goal in the 11th minute of what would turn out to be a 5-2 win at Millikin. He finished the week with an assist on Belcher’s third goal of the night in a 6-0 defeat of Carroll. All three opponents combined for only seven shots on goal against North Park in the three matches.
