North Central 4x400 Relay, Augustana’s Wells Receive CCIW Men’s Indoor Weekly Awards

NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Men’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week on Wednesday for performances during the past weekend of competition. 
 
North Central’s 4x400-meter relay team of Zach Anderson, Gabe Parker, Dakota White and Jake Juneau, along with Augustana senior Magnus Wells, were recognized with this week’s honors.
 
Track: North Central 4x400 Relay (Anderson, Parker, White, Juneau)
NCC’s quartet recorded a season-best and conference-leading time of 3:25.22 at the Keck DIII Select Invitational, placing second at the meet. The time currently ranks 42nd nationally in NCAA Division III.
 
Field: Magnus Wells, Augustana
Wells won the weight throw at the Wartburg Indoor Select with a lifetime-best mark of 19.12 meters, which currently ranks fifth in NCAA Division III. He also placed second in the shot put with a season-best throw of 15.20 meters, a mark that ranks among the top five in the CCIW.
