PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — The lead changed hands Thursday night as Wheaton moved to the top of the standings following the second day of the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Swimming Championship at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex. The Thunder were propelled by a combination of relay titles and key individual wins during the evening finals session.
In the women’s team standings through diving and two days of swimming, Wheaton leads with 342 points, followed by Augustana (302) and Carthage (283). Illinois Wesleyan stands fourth with 206 points, while Carroll (119), North Central (65) and Millikin (56) complete the standings.
Wheaton opened the session with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Aubrey Swanson, Rebecca Darter, Savannah Jeffery and Tess Boyer combined for a winning time of 1:36.07.
In individual events, Illinois Wesleyan senior Natalie Porter captured the 500-yard freestyle title in 5:06.03. Wheaton junior Tess Boyer followed with a win in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.94), meeting the NCAA qualifying standard and setting a meet record. Augustana junior Kendle Mihm added a title in the 50-yard freestyle (24.16), edging Wheaton’s Swanson.
The night concluded with Wheaton returning to the top of the podium in the 400-yard medley relay, as Savannah Jeffery, Lydia Hansen, Kara Grace Hess and Aubrey Swanson posted a first-place time of 4:00.18.
The championships continue Friday with preliminary heats at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Friday’s women’s events will include the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke.
