NAPERVILLE — Carthage sophomore Finn Morris has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, the first weekly honor of the 2026 season.
Morris earned the recognition after posting a 4-0 record during Carthage’s opening spring doubleheader last Saturday. The Firebirds opened the season 2-0 with wins over Coe, 4-3, and Central, 7-0.
Playing at No. 1 doubles with Diego Silva, Morris recorded a 7-5 win against Coe and a 6-1 victory versus Central. In singles competition, he went 2-0 across two positions in the lineup. Morris earned a three-set win at No. 3 singles against Coe, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, before moving to No. 1 singles against Central and posting a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
A native of Burgess Hill, United Kingdom, Morris helped guide Carthage to its first two team wins of the spring season.
