NAPERVILLE --- Millikin earned the first national baseball ranking in program history this week, checking in at No. 23 in the latest ABCA Coaches Poll after a 12-3 start to the 2026 season. The Big Blue received 146 points in Tuesday's poll and enter Wednesday's game versus Franklin on a seven-game winning streak.
Millikin has been paced by strong production on both sides, with five hitters batting .300 or better and a pitching staff led by sophomores Caleb Akins and Gavin Houchins. MU's current win streak dates back to a 5-4 win over Illinois College on Feb. 28.
Denison held the top spot in the new ABCA poll, followed by Johns Hopkins, Lynchburg, Salisbury and Kean.
Following Wednesday's game in Decatur, the Big Blue open College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play this Saturday with a road doubleheader at Wheaton at 1 p.m.
