NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its first Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week selections of the 2026 season on Wednesday, recognizing North Central’s BJ Sorg and Carthage’s Tyler Rose for their performances during opening-week competition.
Track: BJ Sorg, North Central
Track honors went to Sorg of Plainfield, Ill. Sorg turned in a fifth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run at the WashU Distance Carnival last Friday, posting a personal-best time of 29:23.88. That result places him first in the CCIW, fourth in NCAA Division III and sixth in program history.
Field: Tyler Rose
Rose, a senior from Naperville, Ill., was selected as the conference’s Field honoree after recording three event wins at the North Central First Chance Invitational. Rose won the shot put with a mark of 15.57 meters, followed by victories in the discus at 51.22 meters and the hammer throw at 54.21 meters.
The discus and hammer throw performances were both lifetime bests. He currently leads the conference in all three events and stands fourth nationally in the discus, 12th in the hammer throw and 23rd in the shot put.
