NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selected Wheaton freshman Mia Luo as its Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after the Thunder closed the regular season last Saturday.
Luo accounted for both of Wheaton’s points in the match. Teaming with Carly O’Leary at No. 3 doubles, she helped the Thunder secure a 6-2 victory.
At No. 6 singles, Luo rebounded from a first-set loss to earn a three-set win. After falling 2-6 in the opening set, she responded with a 6-4 second-set result and then won the match tiebreak 10-2. The victory improved her singles record to 17-0 on the season.
A native of Surrey, Canada, Luo has helped Wheaton compile a 14-5 overall record during the regular season. The Thunder finished 7-1 in CCIW play.
