NAPERVILLE — North Central College’s Ty Nagy and Alex Porter have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week for the final week of the regular season.
 
Offensive: Ty Nagy, North Central
Nagy was selected as the Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after totaling 14 goals and two assists in two conference victories. The graduate student from Arlington Heights, Ill. scored six goals in a 16-3 win over Carroll before adding eight goals and one assist in a 19-6 win over Augustana in the regular-season finale.
 
Defensive: Alex Porter, North Central
Porter earned Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors after contributing to an NCC defense that allowed nine goals across the two games. He finished the week with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. Against Augustana, the Geneva, Ill. native recorded a career-high four caused turnovers and added a key interception that led to a North Central scoring sequence.
 
North Central outshot its opponents 105-59 during the week and collected 80 ground balls over the two contests. The Cardinals’ win over Augustana also secured the No. 4 seed in the CCIW Tournament.
