NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday, recognizing Augustana’s Riley Hendren as Hitter of the Week and Wheaton’s David Levengood as Pitcher of the Week following their performances in conference competition.
 
Hitter: Riley Hendren, Augustana
Hendren, a sophomore outfielder from Normal, Ill., helped lead Augustana to a 4-0 week by batting 11-for-17 (.647) across four games. His week included a 6-for-6 effort in the opening game of a doubleheader against Elmhurst, where he hit two home runs, two doubles and drove in six runs. Earlier in the week, Hendren homered and finished with six RBI in an 18-2 win over Knox.
 
Pitcher: David Levengood, Wheaton
For Wheaton, Levengood turned in a strong outing in a 3-1 win over North Central to earn his third victory of the season. The junior from Pottstown, Pa. threw 7.2 scoreless innings and limited the Cardinals to two hits after they had averaged nearly 10 runs per game over their previous nine contests. 
 
He carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, did not allow a runner to advance beyond second base, matched a career high with eight strikeouts and issued two walks. Levengood also enters the week ranked eighth among CCIW pitchers with a .243 opponent batting average.
