ROCKFORD, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan won the 2026 CCIW Men’s Golf Championship on Friday afternoon at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Ill., securing the program’s 14th consecutive conference title.
The Titans finished the 54-hole event at 3-over-par as a team, 42 strokes ahead of runner-up Augustana, which closed the tournament at 45-over-par. Millikin placed third at 49-over-par, followed by Carthage at 50-over-par and Elmhurst at 51-over-par.
Pablo Castro of Illinois Wesleyan earned medalist honors, finishing the championship at 5-under-par. Castro carded a 1-over-par 73 in Friday’s final round to maintain his position at the top of the individual standings. He opened the round with a birdie on the par-5 first hole and made the turn at 1-over-par 37 after bogeys on the seventh and eighth holes. Castro added a birdie on the par-5 16th and played the back nine at even-par 36.
The top 10 individual finishers earned First Team All-CCIW honors. Castro led the group at 5-under-par, followed by Illinois Wesleyan teammate Ryan Andrews at even-par. Michael Spitzer of Illinois Wesleyan placed third at 4-over-par, while Carthage’s Nick Barry finished fourth at 5-over-par.
Augustana’s Liam Shannon was fifth at 6-over-par, and Millikin’s Jack Bollinger placed sixth at 7-over-par. North Central’s Jake Delaney and Illinois Wesleyan’s Aidan Healy tied for seventh at 8-over-par, while Augustana’s Calvin Short and Wheaton’s Wyatt Brown tied for ninth at 9-over-par.
Following the conclusion of play, the CCIW announced its annual award winners. Castro was named the CCIW Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Year, while Andrews was selected as the CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year. Illinois Wesleyan was also named the CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year.
The CCIW RESPECT Award recipients were Noah Ehlenbach of Augustana, Grant Naumann of Carroll, Ryan Jermier of Carthage, Will Davis of Elmhurst, Lane Ludwig of Illinois Wesleyan, Tanner Buehnerkemper of Millikin, AJ Ackerson of North Central, William Trainor of North Park and Tannen Reed of Wheaton.
